we didn't have Copper's clearloop back then and trying to do it without CEX venues weren't scalable
one of the most important lessons crypto has taught me is that the biggest danger is betting on a thesis too early and never betting on it again
if you believed in prediction markets, you would have bet on augur instead of polymarket
if you believed in monolithic chains, you would have bet on eos instead of solana
if you believed in sovereign chains, you would have bet on cosmos instead of celestia
if you believed in defi chains, you would have bet on blast instead of bera
if you believed in highest-performance rollups, you would have bet on orbits instead of megaeth
if you believed in privacy, you would have bet on zkcash instead of miden
if you believed in datachains, you would have bet on arweave instead of irys
and if you believed in incentivized decisions, you would have bet on redacted instead of JokeRace
the thing is, i’ve made almost all those first generation bets, lost on all of them, and never regretted it
because they showed me why second generation tech in crypto almost always wins
