NEW GWART POD: OP_Cat, Bitcoin MEV, and Scaling Bitcoin With Post Capone Welcome back to The Gwart Show! Today, Bitcoiner Post Capone joins us to talk about the risks of OP_CAT activation, MEV extraction concerns on Bitcoin, how increased expressivity could lead to mining centralization, the promise of scaling solutions like Arc and Spark, and why constrained covenants like CTV might be a better path forward than unlimited expressivity. RE: whether Ethereum rollups are "successful", @GwartyGwart answered "No", and there were questions about commercial success as well as trust minimization. – On commercial success: rollups do 10x UOPS vs L1 – On trust minimization: Base is actually better than most rollups here
@p0stc4p0n3 concludes at the end that instead of enabling more expressivity on L1, we resign ourselves to BitVM. This would be a depressing outcome for me. We don't accept a 1-of-N trust model for bitcoin L1, why should expressive L2 users have to accept that trust model forever?
@p0stc4p0n3 I am interested in the mevil research you mentioned and happy to have a look if you want another set of eyes on it 👀
