$1K to repost? Red flag fiesta
HOW I ALMOST GOT SCAMMED: Few days back, I got a text from @eRelationsInc - he told me about how he’s the community manager for @ethstatus. He also told me that they were in need of an ambassador. He gave me an offer of a thousand dollars for post and reposts on @ethstatus. I became suspicious since @ethstatus is not following their collab manager, what could be wrong? Why wouldn't the team follow him? Those were the questions I asked myself. Moving on, I came across a tweet from @nft_dreww on how you can get scammed via zoom meetings so I digested the tweet and I made sure to stay vigilant. @eRelationsInc texted me again this evening on when I’d like the ZOOM-meeting to take place. I told him 6:30pm WAT so he sent the zoom link 30 minutes before hand. Immediately I saw the link, I had a hunch that it was scammy 😂 cause the link started with: ・ZOOM as the sub-domain ・(us06) for the domain ・ .US as the top level domain. Here is how a normal zoom meeting link looks like (us05web(.)zoom(.)us) Remove the brackets. ・Us05web -> Sub domain ・Zoom -> Domain ・.US -> Top level domain. After he figured out that I was unto him, he had to block me instantly. The purpose of me sharing this experience is to preach vigilance.. Please, let us all be extra careful with the links we all click. A minute of vigilance can save us from a lot of things. Thank you all for sticking around to the end. GOODLUCK CHADS! 🫡 and remember, STAY SAFE!
