어제 밋업까지 참여했던 SatLayer 소신발언 (feat. 비트코인 리스테이킹)
어제 늙고 지친 몸을 이끌고 회사에서 무려 10분이나 걸어 @satlayer 밋업에 다녀왔습니다.
이 프로젝트에 대해 평소에 너무나도 관심이 많았...던건 아니었고, "특별한 선물"에 혹해 다녀왔습니다. (솔직히 이 글 쓰려는데 SatLayer라는 이름도 생각 안나서 다시 찾아보고옴)
SatLayer는 비트코인 리스테이킹 프로젝트입니다.
Babylon을 통해 스테이킹된 비트코인을 보안이 필요한 다른곳에 다시한번 스테이킹해 활용하고 이런저런 보상을 받자는 것이죠.
이더리움으로 따지면 EigenLayer나 Symbiotic 같은 프로젝트라고 할수 있죠.

소신발언을 해보자면, 사실 아직 비트코인 리스테이킹이 왜 필요한지는 잘 모르겠습니다. (제가 이 분야에 크게 관심이 없어 잘 모르는것일수 있으니 가르침 부탁드립니다!)
이더리움 리스테이킹도 엄청나게 고평가되고 기대를 한몸에 받았던 것에 비해 수요가 마땅치 않습니다. 뭐.. 그 수요를 이더리움 메인넷 자체에서 찾은것 같기는 합니다만, (Pre-confirmation을 위한 담보에 활용) 이는 본래 기대했던 수요와는 조금 차이가 있죠.
활용처를 잘 찾아서 쓸모가 생긴다고 하더라도, $BTC 라는 엄청난 자산을 활용해 스테이킹 하고 나온걸 다시한번 리스테이킹까지 했는데 대체 SatLayer의 자체 토큰은 또 어디에 필요한지도 잘 모르겠습니다. (여러분들께 에어드랍 주기위해 필요하죠!)
아무튼! 확실히 해시드 새 사무실 라운지는 갈때마다 아늑하고 뷰도 좋더군요. 행사장 밥도 맛있었다고 하고(늦게가서 못먹음), 행사 진행도 좋았습니다.
"특별한 선물"은 역시나 에어드랍이었고, 준다니까 SatLayer 최고 짱짱맨!!
