How the Methane community and foundation is fueling Alkanes awareness in the East. Alkanes is a metaprotocol that enables smart contracts directly on Bitcoin, built on Bitcoin’s UTXO model, Alkanes supports programmable tokens, decentralized applications (dApps) and more. With $Diesel as the first token by Oyl and $Methane following a couple of days later. Since the $Methane mint went live around 17/18th March 2025, as the first alkanes community token. The growth of Methane token have in some way impacted the growth of the alkanes ecosystem. In May 2025, the Methane token foundation @MethaneFund was announced with @moffat2021 playing a key role. Its focus was on empowering the Methane community and strengthening the Alkanes ecosystem. This began with Twitter spaces which averages to around 300 listeners, per space and had alkanes and methane as the center of the conversation. The last space on 24th of June had other communities like the @Alkanesbee and Pi contributing to the conversations. To offline Irl meetups bringing slakes conversations to local communities. A prime example is their third Alkanes-focused meetup held in Shanghai on June 14, 2025. These gatherings provide a platform for developers and enthusiasts to explore Alkanes’ technical capabilities, discuss its market potential, and network with like-minded innovators. Although a planned event in Chengdu was canceled, the Foundation quickly pivoted, with community leader @moffat2021 kicking off their first international stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, demonstrating their commitment to global outreach. The foundation comprising of 50 members have been privileged to get almost all the spots to orbitals collections from @AlkanePandas airdrop to @Alkanesbee and more opportunities. Deliberate efforts like this impacts the growth of alkanes.
