The reason is simple: the issuance of stablecoins is increasing, and people's demand for stablecoins is straightforward: payment or trading.
The natural KYC and compliance barriers of CEX block many people's trading paths, with high fees, and some even arbitrarily manipulate users.
It's not that the AMM model of DEX is no longer viable, but in terms of trading pairs based on stablecoins, the product experience of CLOB currently excels (under sufficient liquidity).

$HYPER became our first company to be eliminated in the Railway Royale competition. After a string of fatal plane accidents, they struggled to stay afloat. None of the companies had enough capital to purchase $HYPER, so they filed for bankruptcy and closed their doors for good. They lasted roughly 8 (in-game) years and fought as hard as they could to get something going.
They weren't the only company beset by accidents, $DEX and $SATS both dealt with multiple plane accidents creating a total death toll of 68 within the 2 year stretch of game time. $DEX experienced a solid dip in value (roughly 6%) whereas $SATS is currently too big to fail and grew 11%. $NFA currently is in the lead over $4m above 2nd place.
