ZK isn’t useful because of its privacy properties. ZK is useful because it is ridiculously good at compressing and reducing computation.
Significantly reduced verification costs - which enables ZK rollups - is only one example.
Any ZK technology should find PMF with compute compression, not privacy. I don’t make the rules, the market does.
Beam Chain uses ZK solely for this purpose. Rollups use ZK solely for this purpose.
One exception would be using ZK to shield transactions to be compliant with GDPR or some other privacy regulation.
However, governments will eventually kill ZK shielding without compliance because they, unfortunately, are haven for money launderers and criminals.
